This young man changed the game. Nostalgia.Ultra. is one of my favorite mixtapes (if you can call it that) because it was unlike really anything I’d heard before. The layered stories he crooned over familiar melodies often made me close my eyes in mid step just to catch a glimpse of what he saw when he wrote the lyrics. Channel Orange far surpasses its predecessor.  Frank’s metaphoric imagery and thoughtful word play coupled with his simplistic yet strong vocal ability makes this album more than just an album.  This is a game changer.  The only comment my best friend and I could exchange after a first listen was “Frank…” The ellipses is necessary because it represents all that is unable to be spoken.  It’s very rare that an album leaves me speechless.  It’s very rare that I sit in my car after arriving at my destination and listen to an entire album in the dead of summer.  It’s very rare that I experience a cathartic reaction outside of the typical love story, struggle story, gangsta story.  No. This album touched me in a different way.  This is a game changer.  Thank you Frank. Frank…
